Hearty Reflections #3 : Recieving

Someone is thinking, isn't this supposed to be the other way around. And i say no.
We have heard so much about about being a giver, pouring out of yourself to those around us and enlarging your heart to accomodate dreams that give many people hope. I believe so much in this and i understand the benefit of giving and being a giver. The joy that comes from giving and meeting another man's need or putting a smile on another face or when "gifting a woman with a skyscraper (one of my desires).
Yes this is beautiful and should be encouraged and learnt such that there's no shred of covetiousness in your being, there's also a common quote that:
"It is more blessed to give than to receive". Therefore giving is important.
However, balance is what makes life blissful. We have heard so much of how to be a giver, a volunteer and one to show another love.
But tonight as i lay on my bed needing a good massage and conpanion to share my thoughts with, it dawn on me that some people are not "good recievers". We have heard so much about giving that most people have forgotten or relegated how to receive and also be blessed.
Receiving is not a bad thing or attitude when done with the correct mindset and perspective. Receiving is good and just because every man has a unique treasure in them to deliver, "everyone has something to offer".
Being a good receiver is being able to appreciatr what someone has given you based on their value of you. The ability to percieve this correctly, appreciate and bask in the aura of this experience is something that is good and should be developed.
Certain emotional instablities make it hard to appreciate compliments, gifts, etc. This is why i believe a balance should be found to make life more beautiful.
I am not advocating a self centered mindedness but i am saying that a balance must be struck to keep life happy and blissful.
