Este personaje es legendario, especialmente de Los Llanos venezolanos. El mito narra la historia de un hombre que fue castigado después de asesinar a su padre y que al tratar de huir fue mordido por un perro llamado Tureko. Para concluir el castigo su abuelo regó sobre sus heridas gran cantidad de ají picante.
