Medusa is one of the most anecdotal characters that exist in Greek mythology, were part of the gorgonians and their parents were Forcis and Ceto; but Medusa had a characteristic that differentiated her from the rest of the gorgonians, since she was the only mortal and the most beautiful than her sisters. His beauty was so great that he came to dazzle Poseidon. This provoked a rivalry between Athena and Poseidon, already rivals in and of themselves. Athena's anger was so great that she had learned what happened in her temple, that her immediate reaction was to punish Medusa; who happened to be equal to his two sisters. Both were simple heartless monsters, with metallic hands and sharp fangs, and eyes that emitted such a light, that who looked at them directly, was petrified. Not satisfied with this punishment, Aphrodite was jealous of the beautiful hair that Medusa had, reason by which within the punishment was made that in place of hair serpents are available; in this way, Medusa was banished to live in the hyperborean lands.
