Mythical Creatures of Philippine Mythology

Philippines is indeed rich in traditions ,cultural heritage and and folklores that continous to circulate all over the archipelago.Folklores are still alive up to these days because itd been passed from generation to generation,and in lined with the Halloween celebration i'm going to share to the community some of the famous Philippine mythical creatures

.kapre or Agta

Kapre or Agta-are tall creatures and mostly resides in large old trees like the Balete tree.They are described as black as charcoal,hairy and masculine.They are always seen with there equally large cigars.

Duwende

the opposite of kapre,duwende or dwarfs are said to be playful and shows themselves mostly to children.

Nono sa Punso

Nuno is a small old man with a long beard and lives on anthill,its said to cause harm to those who disturb and destroy there homes

Manananggal

These are creatures described by elders as fetus suckers,they transform into different animals but widely known for its ability to separstes its upper body from its torso and they also grew some wings.

These are mythical environmental spirits that appears in human forms,they are said to be guardians of forests and some engkantos also possesed humans.

Mangkukulam or Mambabarang

are witches who cast evil spells to people,they are sometimes hired to do love potions to desperate people in love and cadt evil ones to someone offended them.

center>Ghost

The undying stories of ghost sightings is so vast in the Philippines,they are said to be souls of the departed who eanted justice on their deaths and some unfinished business on earth

Santelmo

Santelmo is a fireball and is said to be a spirit,and when you follow it youll be lost

tikbalang

These mythical creatures is a tall human with a head and hooves of a horse.

Wakwak

These are vampers birds described to have a long sharp talons and a pair of wings and they feed on human hearts,they got its name from the sounds they produce.

Tiyanak

These are demonic creatures that imitates the form of a baby they became demonic to get revenge modtly to ther mothers who aborted them.

Some filipinos believes in the existence of these creatures even there is no scientific evidence because our ancestors tell stories to younger generation for them to do no harm on nature and to others,and those creatures are also use to frightened us if we do bad things and dont listen to them
