Atlantis - Petroglyphs
Hello my friends at Steemit. As we investigate whether or not Atlantis was on the North and South American Continents, today we look at petroglyphs. Petroglyphs are rock carvings left by people from long ago. Suprisingly, even though many are very ancient it is obvious a hammer and chisel were used to make the relief carvings in the stone.

When we get to the last picture posted you just might understand why they thought Atlantis was an advanced civilization and might agree it is on the North and South American Continents.
Carved into relief on a stone block that has weathered. This is more than a petroglyph and looks like the remnant of artwork on a building. Tools were required to make this relief in the rock and it is very intricate.
This is at Pyramid lake in Nevada, United States. Pyramid lake, like lake Tahoe in California and Crater Lake in Oregon is supposed to be bottomless. This truly looks like it is part of an ancient stone building that was destroyed.
This is more than a hundred miles from Pyramid Lake. The sculptors who carved these reliefs were either very excellent travelers in a very harsh desert or there were many sculptors. Lake Winnemuca, Nevada, these are believed to have been submerged for thousands of years in a lake that is now again dry. For thousands of years, this area has be a huge lake and dry for only short periods of time. This last time period when the lake was dry is when these reliefs were believed to have been carved.
This is a type of petroglyph that is very common where I live in Utah where the desert is also very harsh. There are thousands upon thousands of petroglyphs of this type. One of the very interesting things about the petroglyphs is that many are carved on canyon walls.
Whoever carved the petroglyphs either hung down from ropes from the top of the cliffs or the water level was high enough that they sat in a boat and carved them on the canyon walls. Maybe if the water was high enough, they carved the canyon walls while they fished from the boat to pass the time.
Found in Michigan, United States at Newport. This is from a navigational tower and this is a depiction of Mediterranean Ships or Norse Ships. Someone has evaluated the tower for measurements and it seems the tower is a map of the world. Now we start to arrive at very intricate petroglyphs in North America which require superb skill to craft.
A depiction of a man and woman fleeing the explosion of a volcano. If these reliefs do not cause your mind to question human history think of this: Mummification started here in the New World 3,000 years before it began to the east in Egypt.
This is from the great pyramids at Puma Panku, Bolivia. The stone is diorite, one of the hardest stones there is and was transported ten miles from the quarry. Carved stones weigh up to 400 tons, 800,000 pounds. All are cut with diamond or laser precision. And folks this is as good as it gets that an extremely advanced civilization was on the North and South American continents and it was destroyed. How? We get to that in posts to come

Have you seen any of Graham Hancock's recent work? Specifically, have you heard of Gobekli Tepe in Turkey? There are some amazing youtube talks (Magicians of the Gods) that are new this year - Feb 2017 where GH addresses 'things' in the overall picture of our view of history. Gobekli Tepe is a megalithic site, discovered in the late 1990's that has been carbon dated to 11,600 years ago. Graham Hancock goes on to link ALL such sites together over the entire planet...connecting them all to a single, global civilization. Atlantis? Probably. Just that it isn't one location, it was the entire planet. I highly recommend watching his recent lectures on youtube...it will fill in many blanks for many people on all of this and I feel that it isn't an accident that all of this is coming to light at the current time.
I do not believe there was one earth wide civilization. It is most likely technologically similar civilizations or countries like we have today. For one thing, if everyone was happy, the number of recorded wars was great according to the Bible, Vedas, Tibetan writings, and so on, including the Mayans.
If you think about it. Just like today, they are people living in "grass huts" and shepherds or nomads who do not know anything about High Technology. Perhaps they do they just want to ignore it.
Take the Amish of Pennsylvania and Ohio. They just want to ignore, not technology but electricity. They are actually very high tech and have factories with great machinery and none of it uses electricity. They use horses and carts. I have traveled and observed them during my truck driving period when I went and either picked up or delivered loads in Amish towns. Furniture mostly but sometimes grocery goods.
We see that the levels of technology differ across the earth and peoples interest in them.
Secondly, carbon dating is not all that reliable, or not linear. It is possible there could have been cataclysms from which people fled as in the one Mayan relief and then they moved and took their technology to somewhere else, which was later destroyed as well because if any of this is true and it has to be because of the ancient ruins that mankind was technologically advanced the important point is we are taught that man evolved in a linear manner and that is wrong!
Personally I do think that many of the civilizations had some independence...just like different nations and cultures of today. But I still think they were all linked to one global civilization. Based on what I've recently seen with GH and especially, this huge new megalithic site (that strangely is not mainstream news)...Gobekli Tepe in Turkey.
Yes, I have heard about that site and it is just one of the many things that is unbelievable that have no real explanation my friend @mymoontao when examined against what we are taught. The world is turning out to be very ancient and civilization goes through cycles like a Phoenix.
That's what GH says...that all of the megalithic and other sites need to be re-carbon dated because of contamination from cultures that grew over the top of the more ancient sites. He draws parallels to so many of them...it becomes obvious that they ARE all connected. I highly recommend watching at least one of his lectures...just consider what he presents with an open mind. To me, it doesn't make sense that a civilization as advanced as Atlantis NOT being a global civilization, with all of their technology, etc. It doesn't make sense that they would be isolated in different spots on the planet. They were more advanced than we are and look at us...we have a global society. Awareness of each other anyway.
Unfortunately, I do not have the capability to watch anything my friend @mymoontao. But we do not have a global civilization now. There a vast differences in the levels of technology from one country to another. There are vast differences between countries as to how much and what information is allowed over the internet.
Cultures are very different, countries and the peoples within those countries can be very different. No, I just wonder how it is that you think we have a global civilization, with all the wars?
Let me think about this. It could be a blind spot for me, a very big one. I was thinking about your last response after I logged off. One thing I considered was, a global society 'like ours' where media and travel and banking systems and governments link things up but also there are civilizations that are separate from us too (ie, indigenous tribes in the Rainforest, etc). So maybe it was something like that. Also the possibility shows up that they could be in pockets of time, so to speak. I've encountered some of this but I have yet to truly understand it, I think. Also there were the two "civilizations" of Lemuria AND Atlantis...so maybe they were interconnected, without being aware of each other?
Ah @mymoontao you ask a question I do not know, interesting though but that is the way I perceive it. The big thing here is what they did with stone. The last petroglyh photograph of the diorite. It was theorized my Mr. Zahi(sp?) Hawas PhD, head of the Egyptian Antiquities department that the ancient Egyptians smoothed the stones of all their works from huge granite blocks on down by rubbing them with diorite stones. I had a not pop up that said cordite, but who knows. anyways I am not sure I believe it but it could be true. Also, our world is full of cataclysms of the worst nature and I have been through a few, not close enough to get killed but some really shook me up and covered me with an ashen disposition for awhile - Mt. St. Helens, Bay Area Earthquakes, a flood or two and tornadoes. It's been fun sometimes
