MEDUSA

Medusa (Greek: Μέδουσα (Médousa), meaning "guard" or "protector") In the history of greece medusa means it's a guard or patron, Medusa is in charge of guarding the temple of athena. The beginning of medusa is a beautiful woman who is pampered by men.

Before being condemned to be a Gorgon, Medusa is actually a beautiful woman who lives with her two brothers named Sthenno and Euryale. They are the sons of Phorcys and Ceto. In those days, Medusa was known as the most beautiful woman in Athens and even the gods fell in love with her, one of whom was Poseidon. But due to her beauty, Medusa became a proud woman.

Medusa is condemned by Athena to be a snot-haired ordinary woman called Gorgon, because she has committed a despicable act of intercourse with Poseidon, Poseidon is fascinated with the beauty of medusa so she is eager to rape her.

But among the three Gorgons, only Medusa is the only one who can die (mortal). This is due to the curse that was waged by Athena. there is a source who mentions Medusa to be mortal because he uses some kind of "black magic" forbidden to restore his form. But still fail.

At that time news of the three Gorgon brothers spread widely throughout Greece. Various people tried to destroy the monster, but no one made it back safely. A king from Seriphus named Polydectes asks Perseus to chop off their heads.

On the way, Perseus was awarded several pieces of equipment from the gods, among them a shining shield from Athens, the sword of Hephaestus, the Dark Helm of Hades and the Winged Sandals of Hermes.

When he reached the Gorgon's nest, Perseus found Medusa was asleep. A golden opportunity that Perseus used wisely. He walked up to Medusa just by looking at his reflection on the shield of Athena. Sprightly, Perseus managed to cut Medusa's head off of his body. Because then, Medusa was pregnant with Poseidon's children, then Pegasus and Chysaor were born when Perseus cut off Medusa's head.

Medusa's death made his sisters come closer. But thanks to the flying sandals of Hermes and the Dark Hades Helm, Perseus managed to escape with Medusa's head. Perseus then deducts the Medusa headpiece in front of Athena. The goddess Athena finally put his head on a shield which was later named Aegis shield.
