Christian mystical truth: In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 2 Timothy 3:12

The apostle Paul in his second epistle to Timothy, a letter written probably while the apostle was imprisoned in Rome, taught us that those who live according to the flesh and those who live according to the spirit lead different and opposed lives, the sinners towards the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21) and the righteous towards the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). As in the sapiential books of the old testament, foolishness and wisdom generate mentalities and men have to choose; and in this mystical truth there are no middle terms, there are no greys or lukewarm christians, men cannot give a good impression to God and the Devil at the same time.
And to demonstrate the opposition between the spirit and the flesh, the Apostle Paul gave as an example all the difficulties he had to suffer for preaching the gospel of our Lord on his missionary trips, with these words Paul affirmed:
"You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived" 2 Timothy 3:10-13.
With this Paul taught that the Kingdom of God, the empire or dominion of God's perfections, has enemies, those who love money above all things are attached only to sensible realities, and for this reason, these type of men consider holiness a form of madness. Sin leads society to favoritism and oppression, so in a world dominated by lies and deceit, being a Christian is a real challenge.
