Entry for a contest by @suesa : What is your vision for Steem?
What brought you to Steam ?
I'm not sure. Just beginning to understand the scope of this. Mostly the possibility of having some kind of long term investment while investing my time on various artistic hobbies, that I always did anyway, but this time with an economic flavor. I don't understand much about cryptocurrency so I'm more focused on the social aspect and discovering interesting thoughts and visual arts from a wide array of people. Also... I hope that communication here will improve my knowledge of English... I love to write, in my native language I write a lot and with ease...maybe one day I will be able to do it in English and discuss interesting things with more people from all parts of the planet.
What made you stay?
Difficult to say. Masochism? :) subconscious desire to overcome my lack of patience? :) Because right now everything goes very slow and doesn't look promising. There is surely a good bit of curiosity and challenge to. Some kind of gamelike filing while uploading, blogging and waiting for reactions.
What do you wish would change?
I'm craving for more discussion, polemic tones, and overall vivacity, I feel there is a slight lack of these things, or I'm unable to find them.
What do you think Steem needs in terms of apps?
This is a bit too complicated topic for a newcomer like me...or just me. Maybe some emoticons or stickers to use in posts and comments, I like those silly little things on facebook
What has been your best Steam experience so far?
Encouraging comments...some interesting visual art and music I found....cool, relaxed communication from time to time...surely will be much more of that ...
I love your artwork. Have you checked out discord communities associated with Steem? Some of them are full of silly chatter and some give access to interesting people. Even if you don't chat (I don't chat anywhere, ever) you can get a feel for what's going on.
Mostly, I use Steemit as a platform for expression. Along the way I've "met" people from all over the world who are 'nice'. Also, I try not to let language be a barrier.
Anyway, I wish you a happy adventure here.
Thank you. I didn't hear about those groups. I will check them these days. You are right about the language. I was always in that '' barrier mood'' with English. Never spoke because I can't speak good, which is pretty dumb, considering the fact that without practice there's no progress. But that's me, I'm dumb sometimes :) if I'm smart for too long I get in a deep identity crisis. So, I was always sticking to Croatian, my native language, and Italian, kind of second native language because I'm living near Italy and dialect is almost half Italian. Now that I'm trying to express myself in English, everything goes much easier then I expected and I feel some improvements every day. I have also plans for using Steemit as a platform for expressing and sharing thoughts and artworks. Like every good platform, at the end Steemit is what you make of it. It's on you to articulate your vision and do something interesting and meaningful. Thank you for the comment, I like these conversations through commentaries. I was hooked on them on facebook too.
Anyway, there's always Google translate...if I'm stuck, I just use that, when I'm reading.
Just make sure you have fun... then you've already earned your reward. The rest is a bonus.
Good luck!
