Imo, getting grade 3 for a master thesis just because the method didn't work is quite unfair. Especially when you consider that people can learn a lot from failed experiments.
That can look very different for a PhD, but with the limited time of the master lab work, it can happen that nothing works out... was the same for me back then.
I would encourage you not to see it like you personally failed here. It was just science bashing you a little. Plus a probably non-professional supervision, I would say.

Well, actually the theoretical part did not go as far as wished for - due to the delay, the non-matching data and my personal communication issues.

Ich kam gegen neun vom Nachtdienst heim und dachte, ich seh nicht richtig. Einfach mal die 50 übersprungen. O.O Und das wegen meiner popligen Diplomarbeit. Wahnsinn.

Nein, das war nicht ich. Du wurdest offensichtlich von einem Kurator von @curie entdeckt, der dich dann gevoted hat - und an curie hängt ein curation trail mit 300-400 votes mit dran, die dann vollautomatisch mitvoten.
