The armed conflict between the Government of Indonesia and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) still leaves traces today. The sad and terrible stories of the survivors and witnesses are still visible and we listen to today. The conflict that claimed thousands and even tens of thousands of lives happened for decades and ended on August 15, 2005 or several months after the earthquake and tsunami struck Aceh and claimed more than 200 thousand lives.

Konflik bersenjata yang terjadi antara Pemerintah Indonesia dengan Gerakan Aceh Merdeka (GAM) masih menyisakan bekas sampai sekarang. Cerita menyedihkan dan mengerikan dari para korban dan saksi hidup juga masih bisa kita lihat serta kita dengarkan sampai sekarang. Konflik yang merenggut ribuan bahkan puluhan ribu nyawa itu terjadi selama puluhan tahun lamanya dan berakhir pada 15 Agustus 2005 atau beberapa bulan setelah musibah gempa dan tsunami melanda Aceh dan merenggut korban lebih dari 200 ribu jiwa.

Diantara peninggalan sisa konflik yang masih bisa dijumpai sekarang adalah bom atau bahan peledak. Setiap saat, di beberapa daerah di Provinsi Aceh, bom atau bahan peledak ditemukan oleh warga. Ada yang menemukannya saat membersihkan kebun maupun saat menggali tanah. Tak jarang, ada yang meninggal karena mengutak atik bom tersebut karena ketidaktahuan mereka. Di Desa Gampong Baro, Kecamatan Darul Aman, Kabupaten Aceh Timur, Senin, 7 Mei 2018 kemarin, masyarakat disana dihebohkan dengan penemuan bom jenis amunisi pelontar atau GLM.

He then took and moved the object from a depth of 1 meter of land that has been excavated. He was shocked, as some other residents told him it was a bomb. The police immediately came to the location. The next day, the bomb squad officer from Team Jibom Kompi 2 Battalion B Pioneer Brimob Aramia came to the site and secured the bomb to prevent the occurrence of things that are not desirable.

Bom itu pertama kali ditemukan oleh pekerja saat menggali tanah untuk pemancangan tiang listrik milik PLN. Pekerja merasa curiga karena cangkul yang digunakannya berbenturan dengan benda keras. Ia lalu mengambil dan memindahkan benda tersebut dari kedalaman 1 meter tanah yang sudah digali. Ia terkejut, saat beberapa warga lainnya memberitahukan bahwa benda itu adalah bom. Polisi segera datang ke lokasi. Keesokan harinya, petugas penjinak bom dari Tim Jibom Kompi 2 Batalyon B Pelopor Brimob Aramia datang ke lokasi dan mengamankan bom tersebut untuk mencegah terjadinya hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan.
