MyPictureSunday - Through An Animal Market

This Sunday I was in Animal Market in Dhundedka, a village in Mandsaur district of Central India. I usually visit 5-8 different such market in month. Camera I had with me, Dslr Canon 5d mark 3 .

This market is majorly famous for its buffalos. Many different breeds of buffalos can be found here like murrah, jafarabadi etc. Their are around 1000- 2000 animal in each weekly market. Other animals like cow, goat, bull, hens etc one can also buy here.

Market is organised by authorities of village and their is office where entry of each animal bought and sold is recorded.

All deals are done majorly through Mediators. Mediators have a special code language, so that their deal may maintain its secrecy. Two mediator put a cloth on their hand and through there finger holding they crack their deals.

In this markets due to gathering of such a large number of people and animals, it provides income source to many people. Some sell tea, some transport animals, some mothers and daughters bring green grass for animals, others wash animals and many more.

Some people like old man in above picture visit every market just because they like it here. Most of people involved in this animal business work in family together i.e, in Patriarchy. This will become clear to you through this picture.

Both are definitely brothers, one who knows little much about Indian Hindu Tradition can tell in a second. The hat both are wearing because both have shaved head, it clearly means someone has dies in their home. In Hindus their is tradition of shaving head if someone dies in your family.
So this was my a day travel.
