So, yesterday was pretty cold day here in Klaipeda (about -7 degrees) with high pressure and very sunny from the morning. During such a cold weather and still very high humidity, there is high possibility to get some stunning colors at the sunset, so I was initially planning to go to Curonian Spit for some evening seascapes.
But, as it usually happens here on Baltic, weather is quite unpredictable. Suddenly in the afternoon quite dense fog cam from the sea changing all the perspectives.
Anyway, I have decided not to sit in front of PC (or to be more precise.. in STEEMIT :) ), but still to go and maybe to get some nice fog photos as alternative, which still sounds good and unusual

So have took with me my standard set for landscapes (which is Canon 5D Mark II with Canon EF 17-35mm f/2.8 and LEE filters) as well as travel kit Canon 60D + Sigma 18-250mm, counting maybe some interesting shots of port aquatory in fog.

In order to get to Curonian spit you have to take small ferry coming every 20mins and which is very near my home

While passing the gulf on a ferry got some interesting frames of the port aquatory, as was expected

Ok, so, from the ferry, in order to get to the coastline you have to go couple kilometers to cross the Curonian Spit (which is getting narrower as reaching to the end of a gulf and gates to the port). On the way got some more interesting frames in the snowy forest. Overall Curonian Spit is a very nice and almost untouched camp of nature

Finally after passing the spit came to the seacoast and we are slowly approaching the culmination of this trip. Somehow had a hope that fog wouldn't be so dense at the seaside, but was not right. However, the colors of sunset were so dense, that started to push through the fog even, making the view very unusual.

Quite dark skies with a combination of snow covered sand dunes made the views almost surreal

By that time almost came the sunset time and skies become even more dark and with more intense colours

And finally we came to the culmination of this evening and the best frame (imho) - "The skies of the Apocalypse" or "The bloody Fog" (as you like more)

The was 20mins trip back to the ferry on a frozen air (some good cross-fit training counting dunes up and down and quote a lot of equipment on me :)
And, appeared that's not the end of the story yet!

Couldn't resist to make few night port shots
