Marauder Air Rifle target 40yards - 50 yards
Decided to reset the ATN X-sight II scope today and sight in again to test the range adjustment. Todays target, small black dots colored on a 2 1/2 foot tall box (zoom in to see it).
See target pic, and then groups 10 shots at 40 yards, 5 shot at 50 yards. And yes, that is a dime.
I really like this rifle!
Benjamin Marauder PCP air rifle .22 caliber pellets, 18.13 grain JSB Diablo pellets, tuned to about 950 fps, gets 20 full power shots, then another 10 at just a little less power per fill before it affects accuracy going just a little low.

Group of 5 shots at 50 yards. Holding pretty nice, even with some wind.
Very good shooting!
Thanks! It's definitely mostly the rifle in these shots. I "cheated" and used the benchrest for sighting in.
top class blog sir..iam realy enjoy it.thanks for share..
Thank you!
If you get caught with one of those in Canada, you could be looking at a year in prison. Under our firearms law, you must have a license in order to shoot over 495 feet per second.
I know... what's up with that? You folks and the folks in the UK. UK is limited by 12 foot lbs of energy, not fps though... Yet some of the best air rifles that shoot 100 ft lbs. are made there! Thinking of Daystate, I've been drooling over their new wolverine in .303 caliber. Seems just the right mix of power and multiple shots for small to medium game hunting without going into the obnoxiously large .357 and .45 cals.
Let me guess, the main advantage of using .303 air rifle is the low noise? Rifles scare away other animals.
Low noise, and just the fact of getting to use an air rifle. Sure I've got plenty of other rifles and could use a suppressor on them, but not quite the same as using an airgun. Plus, if hunting coyotes, rats, or other critters at night, there is 0 muzzle flash with an airgun since there is no powder to burn.
I forgot to mention the cheaper ammunition. How much do regular bullets cost compared to pellets, even with the .303 air riffle? You can spend a lot of money on bullets enjoying target practice.
Well yes, cost is far less for plinking and fun shooting. For the survivalist minded, pellets have virtually unlimited shelf-life, can store and carry thousands in the same weight and space as a few dozen cartridges.. Don't have to worry about running out of air like you would cartridges or powder if you reload.
You seem to have great knowledge. How long have you been hunting, and what is your favorite thing to hunt in Colorado?
Used to hunt a lot, started when 9 years old, so well over 40 years. Enjoy more studying wildlife, their patterns, etc. Really just like the challenge of target shooting nowadays, maybe the occasional pesky coyote or raccoon that gets destructive.
