Big Roi - Fishing the Big Island of Hawaii

I have not caught a Roi (Peacock Grouper) in a while. I was using a floater and caught a small Hinalea (Wrasse). I saw some big black shadows swimming under the ledge where I was fishing.

I left the Hinalea in the water and then before I knew it my line started to rip out. It was a big hit.

I had to be very careful because we were right by the sharp lava rocks. I fought the fish for a few minutes and the with a big lift I brought it in.

That was a fun day on the water.
