The Next Generation of Fishermen - Honolulu Hawaii

I was going to check out where my friends were going to set up their dunking rigs and I saw this group of young boys fishing off a pier.

It made me think of when I was growing up and what a long and wonderful ride this has been. Then I started to think of how few kids I see fishing now days. It is a rare sight now days.

10 plus years ago I would see way more families out on the grounds with the kids on their own poles. I think the lack of fish in the near shore waters of Oahu are contributing to this, but this is also the case on the Big Island where the fish are more plentiful.

I guess they are on their iPads instead.
