🌟🌟My Favourite Things VI : Dragon Chandelier 🌟🌟

cover working file.jpg

Welcome to the fifth edition of #myfavouritethings. I really enjoy compiling this series. I think it gives my Steemian friends a nice little peek into my daily work life. Today's featured item is an antique French brass and crystal chandelier with the most stunning dragon details!

I love this light because although it is quite classic and the shape is not unusual, the dragon details are. We added the crystals and glass parts, a hundred years or so it would have been just the brass body, with a few droplets or very sparse crystals.

It's not super super old, it was made for electricity, so possibly around 1905 - 1910. I know this as most houses started to have electricity in 1900, and the electrified chandelier had quite a moment in the limelight then.

Upon first sight, one may think that it is a swan on the arm of each chandelier, but if you have a look at the end of each chandelier arm, you will notice the curling tail of each dragon.

The neck of the chandelier is also really beautiful. Elegant and delicate, this light has a bit of an Art Nouveau feeling to it. I am busy working with a client who needs three lights, that are all similar, and this is her starting point. I have suggested the following two lights to make up the trio.

What do you think? Do you like my suggestion? The lights will be placed in an open plan home, with one in the kitchen, one in the lounge and one over the dining table. I think they will bring a lovely classic feeling into an otherwise quite modern home. I will know by Monday if the client will accept my suggestion.

Hope you have enjoyed this teensy peek into my daily life. 💜💜

A chandelier made for a Queen! I wouldn't expect anything less from the princessmewmew. The crystals and glass added to embellish the brass is genius. The client will be very pleased to have such a unique one of a kind piece of art to accent their home. Your a real game changer...thank you for sharing your work.

aha! These are actually called macaroni chandeliers, and are normally of Italian descent. What a pretty light you have 🌸

Haha funny name.. didn't knew that.
Thank you.

Upon first sight, one may think that it is a swan on the arm of each chandelier, but if you have a look at the end of each chandelier arm, you will notice the curling tail of each dragon. That's right!

Mumun, this chandelier proves that it doesn't matter how old are you. If people treat you good, you will look great even after tens of years. Best wishes :P

haha, is that a comment on my age, my young paduwan? jks 🌸🌸🌸

Yes actually 😀

That is really cool. I hope your client likes them. Good luck on Monday. I was able to see the dragon after looking at the tail, it all came together. Very interesting work.. following and upvoted
