ILOCANO PINAKBET

One of the favorite recipe of pinoy especially the Ilocanos like me. This dish is not missed out on the pinoy's table. Anywhere you go in the Philippines you will always find this food in many restaurants. It's so easy to prepare and very affordable and most especially, nutritious.
A perfect and delicous dish for all occasions.

*If you want to try my version of cooking this recipe, here are the procedures and ingridients I
used: *

INGREDIENTS:

-tomato (you can use 3 or more pieces of it depending on your desire)
-garlic (3-4 pcs can do)
-onion ( 1 or 2 pcs depending on the size)
-pork (sliced in cubes or depending on what you want)
-okra
-squash
-string beans
-eggplant
-sweet potato
-ampalaya/bittergourd

You can add more vegetables you want.

STEP BY STEP PROCEDURES
-Prepare the ingridients (tomato, onion, garlic)
-Put a small amount of cooking oil in the cooking pots/pan
-heat it for a while then put first the pork. Saute it until it is slighlty brown.
-then add the garlic and onion. Wait until it is brownish then add the tomato. Saute it again until the tomato is partly cooked

-wash the vegetables then add them as one in the pot/pan.
-Mix, then cover it for 5 minutes.

-add 2 cups of water (depends to your desired amount of soup) then add fish sauce/bagoong. Some also uses fish paste. Im also using it quite sometimes but making sure that there should be a smaller amount of water so you can taste it better and yummier :) If you dont want to much fish sauce in it you can just add a salt.

-wait until it boils. Dont mix it too often so that the vegeatables will not turn smashed or crashed. (DON'T OVER COOKED THE VEGETABLES.)
-Then taste it. Add additional seasonings according to your desired taste.

Yeah! Its really good for the health.

That is a sweet potato. Its really sweet as it name says. That variety is grown in mt. Province. One of my favorite veggs in pinakbet.. Hehe
