MY CALIFORNIA: The Bay Area

This post is my entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @socalsteemit.

Not to be too corny but one destination that every So Cal resident should visit is none other than Nor Cal or more specifically San Francisco. This past month a few friends and I were invited to visit for a few days and participate in a music production showcase at the Little Raven art gallery located in the heart of the city.

Throughout the weekend the weather was amazing and while there I took the opportunity to check out a few places around the area that weren't the typical tourist destinations. We were staying close to the water by the famous Fisherman's Wharf which turned out to be quite scenic. Alcatraz prison can be seen off in the distance from where we were lodging.

On the morning after the show we decided to set out and explore a bit. Since we were staying close to the water we decided to check out the pier. While there we noticed a herd of sea lions congregating near the boating docks.

The sea lion screeching quickly became unbearable so we ventured further into the city to check out some architecture and commune with the locals.

After a few hours of walking around the downtown area we took a quick trip to Oakland and Cal Berkley where we visited the Amoeba records store and grabbed a bite to eat at Stay Gold Deli. To end the day we migrated back to the Oceanside and do a short hike over to "Lands End" near the golden gate bridge where the view was stunning.

That destination visit served as a fitting conclusion to the day and the trip. The next morning we packed everything up and charted a course back to the Inland Empire; but all of us knew we'd be going back very soon.
