My California - Snow Valley
For this weeks Show Us Your California contest by @socalsteemit I take you to a beautiful ski resort in the San Bernardino mountains...
Snow Valley!!
On highway 18 just above the little town of Arrowbear Lake on the northwestern slopes of Slide peak is the Snow Valley Mountain Resort. Snow Valley was first developed for skiing in the 1930's which makes it the oldest continually operating ski resort in Southern California! It's one of three ski resorts in the San Bernardino mountains. The other two being the Big Bear Mountain Resorts in Big Bear, Ca. Although Snow Valley is the smaller resort, the convenience of the shorter drive from the city keeps it quite a popular destination. When we get some snow here in SoCal Snow Valley is a great place to go. I've skied there many times over the years, in fact it's where I first learned to ski over 20 years ago!!

Now with this winter beginning I'm hoping for snow, snow, and more snow! We've gotten just enough to get the season started and the resorts have been able to make some snow, but we need more... a lot more!! I'd really like to get to do a bunch of snowboarding this winter!!

Something in life I never got to try, most probably would never have gone far before landing upside down. Lovely photo's from then and now, hope you find that snow, looking at it cooled me down @derekrichardson greetings from hot Durban.

Greetings @joanstewart! That's one thing about skiing. You gotta learn to be good at falling down first, because you do a bunch of it before you get good at skiing! lol.
Gravity also kicks into play when not on terra firma personally....
Dejavue again my friend or how ever that is spelled. You can sure make me shiver sitting in my living room looking at that snow. I don't do snow, but I hope you get all want and then some.

That's a bummer. February is usually a good time for snow though. At least it is here. So hopefully you'll find some good snow when you go in 2 months!!
Oh, and I usually snowboard. I haven't used skis in years actually, I like the board better. It's easier.

That was a nice addition putting in the old photos from Snow Valley. Hope you get a lot of snowboarding in this year.
I have been seeing a lot of snow posts lately and I love it. We don't have snow here and it is quite nice to see what people enjoy doing this season. I wish I could experience skiing at least once in my life. Good luck on your snowboarding.
