Griffith Park: Show is Your California
Hi all,
This post is an entry into the weekly contest of @socalsteemit where we show our California.
There is a great park just outside downtown Los Angeles named Griffith Park. The park is more than 4,000 acres, and has many rugged areas - there are many untamed spots where you would never imagined you would be so close to a booming metropolis like LA.
The park has a number of different things to do - the equestrian area hosts many horse riding tours; the LA zoo is in the park; it holds the world famous Griffith Observatory for stargazing; it holds the Hollywood sign; there are a few other museums on the grounds - all this to say, it is an amazing place.
Personally, we love the zoo and hiking in the park. Here is us hiking in one area of the park above the zoo:
Being in the bright lights and dense population of LA can be a challenge at times, yet having the chance to escape from reality or enjoy the educational/entertainment opportunities that Griffith Park has to offer is a great thing about California.
Take care,
Brian
