Flowers - Show Us Your California

Hi Friends,

This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @socalsteemit.

With a temperate climate here in Southern California, a variety of plants and flowers can thrive. I have a friend who likes to grow bananas and another friend has an avocado orchard - pretty great fruits to eat.

One of the most unique flowering plants that people like to grow are called “Birds of Paradise”... check one out:

I snapped this picture but there were many of them growing. As you can see, it looks like an exotic bird when flowering so it is always a fun one for the kids as well.
