Book Exchange - Show Us Your California
Hi Friends,
This post is an entry into the weekly contest of @socalsteemit where we show our California.
There are many families with younger children where we live in Southern California. Given this, it shouldn't come as a surprise to learn that many of these families have created "book exchanges libraries" in their front lawn, like this one:
The point of these is for kids to bring one of their books and exchange it for another book that is new to them. This keeps a constant flow of new books entering the book box and gives kids the chance to read many different books.
As a family, we bike regularly to a couple of these book boxes and exchange books - the kids love it! Especially with libraries closed right now, this is a free way to get new books into our kids hands, yet get rid of some so we don't have too many!
Have you ever seen one of these book boxes before?
Thanks for coming by and seeing a little piece of my California.
Brian
