The Third Myanmar Empire
The Third Myanmar Empire was founded by King Alaungmintaya. Alaungmintaya was born from the family of anded gentry and many of his ancestors were Myithugyis. In 1752 King of Hanthawaddy invaded Inwa successfully and carried away the Ruler of Inwa and his family.
Alaungmintaya successfully united Upper and Lower Myanmar. Hsinbyushin inherited his father's military talents. During his regin Myanmar Army took the city of Ayuthia and successfully repulesd the invasion of Chinese armies.
Badon Min, son of Alaungmintaya was also a great warrior and he was as ambitious as his father. He was eager to unite the whole of Myanmar Under his rule. He helped to expand the frontiers of his kingdom over Rakhine and Manipur. A series of events arose from Rakhine border troubles which led to strained relations between British Bengal and Myanmar.
