A series of bladed which can all the turned at once by moving the air register handle outside the furnace .This opens or closes completely the flow of air to the furnace.
What is an air preheater?
As a further conservation of fuel in the hight pressure boilers,air preheather are sometimes installed . They also consist of a number of steel tubes locate in the uptake,just above the economizer tubes.
