There are many things for you to take back home as reminders of your visit to the Golden Land, Myanmar. Or, may be you would like to purchase something for someone special. Well, our country has much to offer you. To assist you in balancing your badget, I have grouped the articles according to their prices, starting with the lowest in price and working our way up to the more expensive items.

GROUP E: Lacquer ware, teak ware and Myanmar parasols
This is something that should be a must on your shopping list. A lot of ingredients and materials goes into the making of lacquer ware. To describe it briefly, it is bamboo with coatings of teak saw dust and wood oils, rice water, bone ash and a final coating of varnish made of some particular vegetable oils. Articles made of lacquer are available to you in the form of cigarette cases and boxes, ash trays, betel nut boxes, jewellery boxes, powder boxes, drinking cups, food containers and many more interesting items.

Myanmar is famous for its teak and you will be surprised as to what we can turn out of it. Apart from cigar and cigarette boxes, book stands, lamp holders, teak elephants, wall plaques, we have many items to furnish the rooms such as tables, chairs, settees, console cases for TV sets and video desks, almirahs and other larger pieces of furniture. Of course, it is not too convenient for you to carry these back but we suggest that a teak elephant or some other handy useful pieces, such as a cigarette container will not be a bad idea.

A parasol is an item that is surely going to make a big hit back home with that someone special! The wife will like it too, and you can be sure of getting a little extra warmth added to the welcome if you go back with a Myanmar parasol. The parasols, with their coloured clothes and attractive paintings, add to the charm of our Myanmar belles. They will not fail to do the same for the lady back home. You have a choice between the inexpensive ones with wooden handles and the special ones with carved silver handles.
