The pain they suffered when they failed to get into Medical College had been incubating in their unconscious self. They wanted their son to be what they could not be: a medical doctor not a Ph.D doctor. The wish bloomed into a strong desire and slowing it turned into a full-blown obsession of a flower.
They moved to Yangon for theirvson's sake. They bought a good 3-storey detached house with a small swimming pool and standingbon its own ground. They admitted the youngster in the best school. They shelled out a seven-figure-sum in the process. They engaged the best tuition teachers for subjects that mattered.
Their boy was quite intelligent and bright. Unlike his father or mother, he could memorise fairly long passages very very quickly. But parents' over-jealousness made them blind. As the boy grew older, he resented the parental pressure and slowly he became mentally detached from his parents.
