Ngapali is Myanmar’s premier beach destination. Located on the Bay of Bengal coast in Rakhine State, its main feature is white sand and palm tree-lined coast, with a number of resorts spread out next to traditional fishing villages.

ACTIVITIES OF THE BEACH

Ngapali beach is good for relaxing and other activities include taking trips on local fishing boats; kayaking; snorkelling or scuba diving than you can see the brightly coloured fish and cycling or motorbiking on the beach and you can visit some of the local villages.

The first fishing village is about two or three kilometres down the beach from the main stretch of hotels (the distance depends on the hotel), and can use your foot to go. The Buddha can be seen from the entire bay, so the direction is clear.

Note that most hotels shut during the low season from May to October, Usually there have a small number open throughout the year. Budget and mid-range accommodation options are limited in Ngapali. Ngwe Saung and Chaung Tha have more hotel and accommodation.

There are a number of ATMs along the main road that runs parallel to the beach at Ngapali, the higher hotels such as the Amata Resort also have ATMs

It is safe for foreigners to visit Ngapali beach and there are no travel restrictions in the area, a lot of police alway look around at the beach.
