GENERAL AUNG SAN

GENERAL AUNG SAN was born to U Pha,a lawyer,and his wife , Daw Su in Natmauk,Magway Disctrict, in central Burma on 13 February 1915.
GENERAL AUNG SAN received his primary education at a BUDDHIST MONASTIC school in Natmauk, and secondary education at Yenangyaung Hight school.
He want to Rangoon University and Received a B.A. degree in English Literature, Modern History
and Political Science in 1938.

1932-
GENERAL AUNG SAN matriculated in the 'A' category with distinctions in Burmes and Parli.
1933-
GENERAL AUNG SAN quickly become a studend leader after he entered Rangoon University.
He was elected to the executive committee of the Rangoon University Students' Union (RUSU).
He then become editor of their magazine Oway.
1936 February-
He was threatened with expulsion from the university, along with U Nu, form refusing to reveal the name of the author of the artical Hell Hround At Large,which criticized a senior University official.
This led to the Second University Student' Strike
and the University authorites subsequently retractet their expulsion order.
1938-
GENERAL AUNG SAN was elected president of both the Rangoon University student Union and the All-Burma Students Union,formed after the strike spread to Mandalay.
In the same year,the government appointed him
as a student representative on the Rangoon University ACT Amedment Committee.
1938 October-
GENERAL AUNG SAN left his law classes and entered national political.As this point he was anti-British and staunchly anti-imperialist.
He become a Thakin and acted as their General secretary unit August 1940.
While in this role he helped organize a series of countrywide strikes that become known as Me 1300 Revolution, name after the Burmes Calender year.
He also helped found another nationalist organization, the freedom BLOC,by formig an alliance between the Dobamar,the ABSU ,politically active monks and Dr Ba Maw's Sinyetar (Poor Man)Party and become its general secretary.
What remain relatively unknows is the fact that he also become a founder member and first secratury and general of the communist Party of burma in August 1939.
1940 Match-
He attanted India National Congress Assembly in Ramgarh ,India.However the government issued a warrand for his arrest due to thakin attempts to orgnize a revolt against the british and he had to flee Burma.
He went first to china,seeking assistance from the nationalist government of the kunmunyit,but he was intercepted by the japanese military occupier in Amory and was convinced by them to go to japan instand.
Assassination -
On 19 July 1947, a gang of armed paramilitaries of former Prime minister U Saw broke into the secretariat building in downtown Rangoon during a meeting of the Executive Council and assassinated GENERAL AUNG SAN and six of his cabinet minister, including his older brother Ba Win, father of Sein Win Leader of the government-in-exile , the National Coalition Governmant of the Union of Burma (NCGUB).A cabinet secretary and bodyguard were also killed.U SAW was subsequently tired and hanged.
