My 2018: A tour around my town Merida Yucatan
Come with me to Merida Yucatan Mexico and see all that you can do if you visit, it is three hours from Cancun. But first I want to than @anomadsoul for the opportunity to be in his contest of showing your town and being proud of it.
The picture above is in the middle of a round a about on the famous street Paseo De Montejo , it stands glorious and proud of the Maya heritage
This is one of the many mansions lining the street Paseo De Montejo where it is designed after a long street in Paris France., at one point Merida had the most millionaires in the world
My sister and I do everything around town here we are going to the huge"Mercado" downtown it has everything you need
Look how colorful everything looks and it goes for city blocks you can spend all day in it
Would you like one of these to put in your home?
I love to see the"mestizas" walking around town looking so beautiful in their hipiles wonderful dress of the Yucatan
Come with me for lunch to"Heladios" where you don't pay for food as long as you buy sodas and beer they constantly bring all kinds of authentic delicious appetizers
Next door is the seafood taco restaurant look how good this looks yum
You might want to go to a fine dining restaurant and try carpacio raw thin steak with wonderful spices
This next picture is what many people think that Mexico is like because of how they portray us on tv , it was very cool to see it
If you'd like to hear Mayan music you can go to the park or Mexican melodies usually country by these rancheros
Go to an open air restaurant and have a few tacos and beer and just enjoy being alive in the beautiful white city! This is my brother in law and niece we do alot together
Time for an ice cream by a street vendor, this one was always outside my high school at snack time and every time I go home to Merida I go get that homemade ice cream from this particular vendor, oh so good!
Now your in Mexico so siesta time is a must, everyone for their siesta sleeps in a hammock, here I am with my niece ceci(named after me) about to take our siesta
Now you shower to get freshened up and go out for a coffee! Best place is Obrigon where the café con leche is the best, go to the downtown one so you can see more pretty things
After your coffee you might want to buy something to take home for you or a loved one or maybe a piñata!
Would you like to go to a museum? An art gallery? There are many!!! Here is my niece Alexa we are always doing the art thing
Drop in the oldest church in north and south America it is right downtown Merida and was made with the Mayan ruins that were right there before from thousands of years
Right across the street from the church is this pretty building full of shops with homemade Mexican dresses and all kinds of beautiful things native to the Yucatan
Well guys its getting to be dark, time to dress up to go out and see all you can do at night for free, look at this show the girls and guys dance with cups full of coke on top of their heads
Would you like to go to a free outdoor concert? This night was a70s cover band they were excellent!
This one night Enrique Iglesias came I got so close to him!
Or maybe you want to sing with a live band at the piano bar, here I am singing with one of my nieces having a great time! And you can have a Chile mango margarita!
Guys I have so many more pictures and so much more to show but I think I've made this long enough lol. I really hope you enjoyed my tour of my town, Merida Yucatan Mexico and I'm proud to be....
It's beautiful and you really made me wanna travel now :d
❤️ thank you little brother
The carvings in the rocks of the first 2 pictures is so amazing looking. Even the buildings have such intricate details. Really lovely pictures.I'd love to go there. Maybe you should try using the photography tag as your first tag because it's so popular it could help with visibility. More people need to see your awesome pictures.
