New year brings lot more than just a week long holiday. A new year feels like a new start with new enthusiasm and excitement to all. That's why a new year is welcomed with a lot of excitement in every country. I had been participating in the last two contests by @anomadsoul and thought of giving this contest a chance as well. In this post I'll talking about how we usually welcome the new year here in Nepal and how I am gonna welcome 2018 this year.

We actually follow a different calender here in Nepal officially, that's called Vikram Sambat. We are actually 3 months far from welcoming the new year here in Nepal according to the official calender. 

But still new years are festivals and meant to be celebrated and we do celebrate every new years with excitement. This time of this year I am actually away from my home and going to welcome this new year with my friends. I am writing here how I am gonna welcome 2018 this time.

New Year Eve Parties

These are the best things about the new years. There are usually no home parties on this occasion here but there can be some gatherings for friends. We actually go to the clubs and pubs at around 10 and stay there till it is morning. Booze and dance is all what we enjoy until the clock ticks 00:00 and starts a brand new year.

Movies and Games

These are best parts of every holidays as well. Lay in your sofa and watch movies on the new year day if you have no plans. But in my case we actually make plans to gather at one friends place and start watching movies like Home Alone, Baby's Day Out etc. Sounds childish? But thats what we are. LOL. And believe me gamers don't need an occassion to play games. I am not a gamer but the friends of mine won't let me go without playing games on their consoles.

Booze and Food

We have a lot of booze on the new years eve party. And guess what we won't let a new years first day go without some liquor.

In Nepal we have rice, lentils, vegetables and mutton asa typical food. We have this on he new years day too. Besides from this we have whole lots of junk food watching movies and playing games.

Love

The best thing in true sense about new year is that we look forward to a new year with new hopes, lots of positivity, enthusiasm and love. This is the time we are together with our family or friends and we have a life long memories of this.

Sending greetings and wishes also increase love among the family and friends and celebrations adds a spice to the life as well.

New year arrives with hopes and it gives us new courage and belief for a new start. Wish everyone a very Happy New Year!
