My 2017: Welcoming this new year! - "If God be for us, who can be against us?"/Bienvenida al nuevo año: “Si Dios con nosotros, ¿Quién contra nosotros?”

Thanks to @anomadsoul for giving us the opportunity to share our year-end traditions in this esteemed community.

I am Venezuelan, specifically I live in the state of Aragua. Here in Venezuela the traditions vary according to the state in which you live. Traditionally Christmas and the welcome of the new year we do it as a family. The typical Christmas dishes of our country are made like it is the hallacas, the ham bread, the lechoza sweet (food that this year was scarce due to the political-economic situation that we have to live), however in my house we managed to make A few hallacas to be able to share a little happiness with our relatives.

I usually try to make sure that the day of the old night does not have many things to do, just be prepared to share and celebrate at night with our family; That's how it was around 7.30 when my husband's mother came to pick us up to meet us at Marina's house (my husband's aunt) and there we shared a very pleasant evening with the family, we sang for a while accompanied by my husband in the cuatro (traditional instrument of my country), we talked and, like all the families of now there were also moments in which everyone was stuck in their cell phones answering new year's greeting messages. We share a delicious dinner, which as I said before, the traditional would be hallaca, ham bread, salad; this year we change dinner and it was a delicious baked chicken with bread and salad. But even so it was an exquisite and abundant dinner, God blesses greatly.

When the time of twelve o'clock approaches, the whole family gathers in the living room of the apartment, turns on the television and looks for a channel that announces the cannon that announces and at twelve midnight and with effusive hugs we we give the happy year This year was very emotional as many relatives had to emigrate from our country and were not present as in previous years; also many friends very close to the family had to leave, so after the hugs each return to their phones to send the happy years via video calls or whatsapp.

In our country, the political situation we are living changed us a little the customs and traditions to which we were already accustomed, but nevertheless we were able to resolve in other ways and enjoy these dates.
Now, already entered into this new year 2018 knowing that it is loaded with great challenges, we surrender ourselves in the hands of God, and if "God is with us, who is against us?"

Feliz año nuevo 2018

Que la paz, la bondad y la misericordia de Dios les acompañe durante este nuevo año.

Gracias a @anomadsoul por darnos la oportunidad de compartir nuestras tradiciones de fin de año en esta apreciada comunidad.

Soy venezolana, específicamente vivo en el estado Aragua. Aquí en Venezuela las tradiciones varían de acuerdo al estado en el que vives. Tradicionalmente las navidades y el recibimiento del nuevo año lo hacemos en familia. Se hacen los platos típicos navideños de nuestro país como le es las hallacas, el pan de jamón, el dulce de lechoza (alimentos que este año escasearon por la situación política-económica que nos ha tocado vivir), sin embargo en mi casa logramos hacer unas pocas hallacas para poder compartir un poco de alegría con nuestros familiares.

Por lo general trato que el día de noche vieja no tenga muchas cosas que hacer, sólo sea prepararnos para compartir y celebrar en la noche con nuestra familia; así fue a eso de las 7.30 vino la madre de mi esposo a buscarnos para ir a reunirnos a casa de Marina (tía de mi esposo) y allí con la familia compartimos una velada muy agradable, cantamos un rato acompañados por mi esposo en el cuatro (instrumento tradicional de mi país), conversamos y, como todas la familias de ahora también hubo momentos en el que todos estaban metidos en sus celulares respondiendo mensajes de salutación de año nuevo. Compartimos una rica cena, que como dije antes, lo tradicional sería hallaca, pan de jamón, ensalada; este año cambio la cena y fue un rico pollo al horno con pan y ensalada. Pero aún así fue una exquisita cena y abundante, Dios bendice en gran manera.

Ya cuando se acerca la hora de la doce de la noche se reúne toda la familia en la sala del apartamento, se prende el televisor y se busca un canal que anuncie el cañonazo que anuncia ya las doce de la media noche y con efusivos abrazos nos damos el feliz año. Este año fue muy emotivo ya que muchos familiares tuvieron que emigrar de nuestros país y no estuvieron presentes como en años anteriores; también muchos amigos muy allegados a la familia tuvieron que irse, así que después de los abrazos cada quien retorno a sus teléfonos para enviar el feliz años por vía de videos llamadas o por vía whatsapp.

En nuestro país la situación política que estamos viviendo nos hizo cambiar un poco las costumbres y tradiciones a las que ya estábamos acostumbrados, más sin embargo pudimos resolver de otras formas y disfrutar de estas fechas.
Ahora, ya entrados en este nuevo año 2018 sabiendo que viene cargado de grandes retos nos entregamos en las manos de Dios, y si “Dios está con nosotros, ¿Quién contra nosotros?”
