My 2017: Welcoming the new year - How we received this 2018!
In the evening of December, 31 we were preparing for the New Year.
At first me with my kids cooked different dishes.
Then my girls helped to set the table.
It was a nice simple healthy meal: fish, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, pickled cucumbers, carrot and cabbage salads, radishes.
And of course tgere were a lot of different fruits, biscuits and sweets!
Also we prepared Ukrainian dumplings and delicious Olivier salad, that seems like a symbol of the New Year here.
We have the tradition to wish the old year good-bye first, then to meet the New Year.
So we sat down at the table twice!
We lighted the candles on the Christmas tree and on the table and turn on the TV at 11 p.m.
We were prepared for the New Year! At midnight we made a wish - it's our tradition, too!
Then we were watching TV, were eating delicious meal, were burning Bengal lights and were talking till 2 in the morning :-)
It was wonderful!
