In the wake of the post-SegWit crypto explosion – taking Bitcoin from $2,000 to $20,000, before settling two years later at $11,000 - I remember Trace Mayer referring to how “pre-SegWit” and “post-SegWit” Bitcoin were two completely different entities; the latter, vastly more valuable than the former. The reason being, that SegWit enabled Bitcoin to grow vastly faster, with significantly broader opportunities.
Conversely, BCash clung to the pre-SegWit technological paradigm – making nothing but cosmetic changes that two years, and multiple hard forks later (including the hostile Bitcoin-SV) has it valued dramatically below Bitcoin…to boot, used for NOTHING but speculation.
MWC Lead Dev Chris Gilliard and I recognize the Bitcoin community may be resistant to the radical changes MimbleWimble would bring TODAY – particularly, because it’s incorporation would necessitate a hard fork. However, as its code is perfect and broadly tested; and benefits well understood, it will welcome MimbleWimble due to how VASTLY better it is than current, for all intents and purposes archaic blockchain technology - like the difference between pre- and -post-SegWit Bitcoin, only MimbleWimble will add MUCH more to Bitcoin’s value proposition than SegWit.
With just two weeks to claim your FREE MWC, Chris today writes of just how much more valuable Bitcoin could become with MimbleWimble’s vastly superior scalability, privacy, and fungibility.
