Elon Musk's understanding of Ukraine is about as good as his understanding of infectious disease.

I like how his Crimea point explicitly conflicts with his first point. Crimea voted for independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. And Crimean Tatars were the largest ethnic group for much of Crimea's history until purges in the 20th century.

If we consider polling, prior to the dubious annexation of 2014 under Russian occupation, only 23% of Crimeans wanted to join Russia as of May 2013. Since then tens of thousands of Crimeans were displaced by Russia.
