What is the way out? A rant

in #musings6 years ago

The song This is Nigeria by Falz released a few months ago has caused a lot of tension, I'm disturbed by things I see around me daily, so, I'm just going to rant.

In a country where the government does not care about the citizens, the citizens have to be wise and begin to care for one another. Foundations and charities are set up for such purpose.
Nigerians need to look out for one another, pioneering initiatives that would help the people. The Government does not care about the state of the roads, the state of the vehicles on the roads, or even the state of mind of the humans on the roads, that is why the citizens must rise up to create organisations that would do these checks.

We don't have competent food inspectors to ensure that restaurants meet specifications and standard. The markets, production areas/industrial areas are to be strictly monitored to ensure that hygiene and safety is ascertained, to achieve this, individuals must create charities and foundations that look into this things.

God is not going to come down and do this things no matter the prayers and fasting. He has given us brains to think things through. Even those abroad should not think they are free completely because their relatives and friends will keep asking them for help. Remember the story of Esther? Who knows, you might have been sent abroad to bring change to your nation Nigeria.

You might say, thank God I live in a developed world, but wait a minute what happens to our dear nation?
The politicians gamble with our present and future, they make laws that suits their needs.

They are political prostitutes, once a godfather isn't as powerful or credible as he used to be, the followers promptly decamp to the happening party (The former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko is a close example; from PDP to Labour Party to PDP and out again).

The new #nottoyoungtorule law isn't even favourable for the youths. You don't believe? Where will a young man/woman who's struggling to keep body, soul and spirit together get #16 million naira to buy nomination form just to run for an office? Even the few who can afford it consider it as an investment because they know they won't win but they'd become more popular and may land the position of Special Adviser or Personal Adviser to whoever wins the election.

Sitting pretty as the country with highest number of very poor people in the world, we overtook India, we should be worried. No technological advancement, no quality healthcare, high cost of living, low standard of living.

What is the way out? I'd like to hear from you.

When is the future? The future is now!

I am @bookoons, reminding you today to Make A Difference!

What we need is a change of mindset. We find ourselves in a nation where individualism is put before nationalism.

I'm the words of Sam Adeyemi "whatever is wrong with our country is wrong with almost everything citizen". Our problem is a people, we need to start seeing the nation as our own and not on a political party basis, tribal/ethnical perspective or even religious.

Wow. Very deep and concise response. We need to change our mindset, not the one of when i get there, I'd also pack money.
