What is the meaning of Power down and power up on steemit ?

There are two things on steemit. One is power up and other one is power down.

There are three types of currency on steemit. They are SBD, SP, Steem. You can get these three currency of steemit by getting upvotes in your post. And you will get this currency after 7 days in your post payout.

There are two options to convert liquid steem to SP and SP to liquid steem. When you got a handsome value of upvote then you will get liquid steem and SP at present.

If you wanted to convert liquid steem into SP then it is called power up. On the other hand, when you wanted to convert SP to liquid steem then it is called power down.

When you wanted to convert liquid steem to SP then you will see that the amount of liquid steem will convert into SP instant. But when you wanted to power down then you will get the amount of SP in liquid steem within 13 weeks.
