MUSING OF A CORPER

What could be worse than this feeling of dissatisfaction?

•this gravitational pull on my sanity is the sole responsibility of my lean pulse. My energy desert me in hunger at the glimpse of my empty bag. In high hopes I visited it again, the jingle of a coin could have lift my dispirited being.

•The lines of a friend who had journeyed through this oceans of selfless service fanned through my ears, " nysc allowance is unarguably a fleeting smoke that disappears even before its impact is felt, find something else to suppliment it". If I hadn't naively termed it a clueless child's talk, it wouldn't have turned out to be an unforeseen contingency of my null account that beget the hollow in my visual sense, the elephant trunk standing beneath my neck, my sunken cheek and flat panelled buttock.

If i hadn't turned down a business offer with a juicy salary that required me to abandon my nysc primary place of assignment, would I not be at peace with myself now?. Perhaps not. If my healthy conscience hadn't streamlined the third to the last line of the nysc anthem, I could have kissed this Cluttered charlatan imposed as a service to the government an arousing goodbye.

This longterm heed-to-advice defect finally became my downfall.

A friend had once said "scilla, don't depend solely on nysc allowance if you don't want to end up broke".

A friend had once adviced "scilla, make sure you learn atleast one skill during your service year".

A friend had once adviced "scilla, try as much as possible to save, so that you would have something to hold unto before you get a job".

Oh! How this defect has robbed me of the bliss of being a corp member.

Well, dear self, As I treat your defect with a dose of hunger and want, you will in no time begin to heed-to-advice.
