Is there any neurological explanation to mood swings?

First, let's clarify something if there is no background or pathology that can cause neurological problems mood changes in a person are caused by psychological or situational factors that intervene in situations of change, stress or in the face of fear or the unknown, causing the neuroreceptors of the brain to shoot up causing noticeable mood changes.

However, if we enter more into perspective, there are a large number of injuries, pathologies and neuronal disorders that make these neurotransmitters get out of control and generate random situations where people can not have control over these discharges, generating that any scenario can trigger mood swings.

Remember that the brain is a large neural network where the smallest signal of alteration can generate a number of problems.
