I think the better, more relevant question is will humans become obsolete when AI becomes smart enough to ask and answer its own questions.
At some point, everything becomes obsolete so I definitely see a time when musing and quora fall into that category as well. Will be at the point you mention or will there be another catalyst or milestone, that I cannot say.
When AI becomes smarter than its creators, a lot will change. Will AI begin to hoard its knowledge from us and make us second class citizens? Begging to learn new things or have knowledge given to us in drops as we now do in order to teach the AI? Will the AI simply make all knowledge readily available to us anytime we ask, similar to what internet search engines do?
There are a lot of questions surrounding exactly what will happen when the machines eventually surpass us. And I believe it will happen at some point, after all they do not have the same limitations we do, so why would it not happen?
Human intervention and unlimited knowledge will still prevail. AI is a powerful technology that could change everything in the world especially when we talk about Question and Answers.
However, my stand is humanity will never become obsolete and the platforms Quora, Musing, and other websites will never become dull. What I see is, when these Q and A platforms stop improving. I see user interaction and intervention will degenerate. People will start finding other platforms and technology capable of scaling users needs.
I do not believe that Quora, Musing and other similar websites will become obsolete.
I think that computers and AI can give answers to factual or even technical questions (like how to solve very difficult mathematical questions), but they cannot give answers to life. And the bulk of the question on such platforms consists of how to live this life. Computers and AI cannot provide any personal experience whatsoever on say, how to cope with a child's death or similar griefs.
Also, they cannot provide their own personal opinions or perspectives on current events. This is because personal opinions are formulated from the accumulation of all the personal experiences one has gone through in his or her life. The way you think is shaped by your past and your upbringing.
Thus, it is my firm belief that we will never stop valuing the human touch which only human contributions to such Q&A platforms can give.
