Well it is hard to tell 

As it has just started its journey and it is still developing. While the mechanism of it is similar to Steemit and already the users of Steemit are taking part in Weku which seems like a good news for Weku. 

But to come to the point if the Weku coin does not comes to the market than it does not have any value of it. Based on the recent adoption of Weku by many Steemians the phase of the adoption might get to the expectation but if the team behind it thinks otherwise than it will be just a waste of time.

While to think of the tech they are using and their plan of going forward it does looks like they have a future and the users who are joining at the early stage will sure have a great benefit. So yes there is a great chance that weku might be like Steemit (though Steemit is much bigger than just steemit, it has many dapps and many more options for users as well).
