The Night Before An Examination : Examination is something that always evokes fear in our mind. It makes us feel nervous. As it approaches nearer our heart beats faster. We inevitably feel that our preparations are not sound. I experienced the same before my first board examination. It was my first public examination, and initially I was exited. My parents had lot of expectation, and I was sure that I would be performing quite well. But as days passed my excitements turned into fear and apprehension. On the evening before my English examination, I was quite restless. I could not decide what to read. My father, advised me to relax lest I would forget what I have studied. I went through the Texts first and then felt that I must practise some grammar. Soon I changed my mind and decided to read some suggestive paragraphs. When I started reading, I felt that I had almost forgotten them. I was at a fix. My tension was gaining heights. My mother offered me some tea so that I may energise me, but I was unwilling to take any drink. I thought my brain was jumbled up and feared that I might not be doing well the next day. However, my father again came to my rescue. He said that if I cram my head with newer ideas it may not be helpful. He also asked me to do some meditation. I followed his advise and felt better. I just browsed my study materials and took a light dinner thereafter. Before going to bed I prayed to help me in retaining my composure. I felt much better. I saw the news headlines in the television as a part of my routine, then put off the lights and went to bed. I knew that a sound sleep would relax my exited and agitated nerves. The earthly fears of my examination did not torment me anymore and I had a pretty good sleep at the night.

Thanks for reminding my old memory,
