I think we could easily see a cashless society. It's hard for many people to wrap their minds around such an idea because of what was taught to them. 

Tangibility in what we perceive to hold value, is completely, a taught perception. 

A digital asset can be compared to a brick of gold. 

The amount you have does not change, the value of the asset might change, but the physical amount does not. 

Really there is no difference here, other than the perception of the "real" gold vs the "digital" gold.

The digital gold is just as real as the real gold. It can be verified to exist, it can be moved around, and it will always maintain a speculative value. 

Children's minds are like a blank canvass, or a dry sponge ready to absorb everything. If they learn to value cryptocurrency, they will look back on the tangible things that we held value to, and find that strange as well.
