3 Ways To Not Build A Community Regardless of Platform

in #musician7 years ago (edited)
  1. Not replying to comments and only liking posts and/or comments. STOP doing this! I know especially for women that replying to comments may result in a creepy comment but stop doing the lazy thing and start replying to comments.

  2. Not researching hashtags in the niche you're in and commenting on the accounts in that post. How are you going to build a brand if all you do is push content out only? For example, if you are a singer then look up the #singer tag on IG and go to various accounts and tell them how dope their music is. Don't tell them to check your music out just tell them you like song x because you actually spent some time listening to the music. They'll appreciate and be more likely to check your account out and buy and/or stream your music.

  3. Shout out other people in your posts. Yes some people heck a lot of people you shout out may really be worth shouting out to but you have to start caring. If you don't care about your community then what the heck are you doing as a content creator regardless if you're a music producer, musician, or actor. Start CARING about your community. If you don't care about your community's content then why should they care about YOUR content.

That's my rant for now. I'll probably say this a lot better on Dtube in the future

Cool rant @billauckland... advice actually. I'm sure someone will see this advice come up again. I have, and it's good to be reminded.
I would also remind commenters to be authentic with their comments. NOT EPIC, just authentic. 😊
