The event, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, is part of the commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the declaration of flamenco as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, which is, as explained by the minister, "an ideal framework to put in I value the ties that unite flamenco with Andalusian music ".

Rodríguez Uribes has highlighted the role of Andalusia in this twinning, since "it is the cradle of flamenco, but it was also the land where Andalusian music was conceived for centuries, as one more testimony to the cultural encounter forged over centuries in the South of Spain". To which he added that "the path traveled to this day makes sense as a vehicle of union and cultural closeness between the two shores of our two countries, our two continents."

The minister has valued the suitability of the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, in Seville, as a space for this concert, as it is "an enclave of fusion between our cultures, whose most important purpose is to preserve dialogue, peace and tolerance among the peoples of the Mediterranean ".

In addition, he recalled that the artists united in this event, which will be available on Radio Clásica, the flamenco pianist David Peña Dorantes, the bailaora Pastora Galván and the Orquesta Andalusí de Jalal Chekara, are "heirs of the historic 'Reencuentro' between flamenco and the Andalusian music that the cantaor Juan Peña 'El Lebrijano' and the Andalusian Orchestra of Tangier recorded in the 80s, lighting a flame that is still alive today ".

Likewise, Rodríguez Uribes has renewed his "commitment to continue supporting the bilateral cultural cooperation program with Morocco, 'Visages', which since 2016 has allowed the organization of the Atlantic Andalusia Festival in the city of Essaouira, as well as the twinning concert which we attend today in Seville ".
