My broadcast highlights from my Taco Surf performance with #steelparade July 19th 2018 Part 2 of 2

in #musica7 years ago

The name of my second broadcast is called, "Steel drum music sounds fun!"

Did that make you dizzy? Maybe these broadcast highlights will, but they shouldn't. The camera angle is much better this time.

  • We start off our second set with an original tune called, "Dance With Me" at 03:18. Steel Parade is scheduled to release a new album this year on BandCamp.
  • At 10:10we start a classic called "Helena" and it gets the dancers moving because we play it fast. Listen to this gif-like video I made featuring our hyper rendition of Helena. https://youtu.be/JfQaSVYcsM8

10sec Gif-Like Music Video:

  • We perform a fun reggae/steel drum version of The Beatles song "Across The Universe" at 17:02.
  • Do you remember an Elvis Castello song called "What's So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding?" We perform our ska version of it at 22:41 with or friend Kris singing again. Checkout my bass parts! Busy, busy bass is cool sometimes.
  • We perform a song for the first time ever at 29:45! It's called, "Let's Run Away."Skip back to 27:21and you'll hear @steelparade talking about it. It's a world premier presentation, "virgin" experience as @steelparade put it.

  • A highly sophisticated drunk dude asks us to play the Don Ho song titled, "Tinny Bubbles" at 34:37 and we make it happen. Harmonies and all.
  • Then at 36:47 the same dude puts a $20 bill on my microphone as a compliment... and we both suddenly feel like we are at a strip joint. Guess who's the stripper? Not that strippers are bad people or anything, it's just uhhh... different.
  • At 41:15 we perform a strangely funky version of "I Love How You Love Me."
  • We play a famous Elvis tune at 56:30. By this time, people are already dancing and we begin a sing-along at 58:59.
  • We end our performance with an Elvis tune. I show the steel drum and talk to an old friend from BuskerApp at 01:02:04.
  • See the drum set at 1:03:56 from the thrown... that's what we call the drummer's seat. The rest of the video is just a bunch of chatter and too much back-to-the camera. It's rude and I'll try to refrain in the future.

NEXT: Wild and crazy living room performance highlights from a 50th birthday party! 😳
