Steve Vai recently mentioned this topic in an interview. He said creative people's minds are just wired differently than business people's. I'm pretty good at playing guitar but terrible at business (I can't even make any money on steemit). Creative tasks are interesting to me while business tasks I find extremely boring.
Vai is a great example of a guy who seems to handle both well, since he's always doing those big tours where he headlines and has all the big opening acts like Wylde and Malmsteen. Interesting that he thinks that way too.
