1. Kote Kote Kei (Kotevi)

Kote Kei (old school) refers to the hallmark of visual kei bands in the early and mid 90s, which later became their inspiration. Typically colorful and surprisingly characteristic, characterized by wild hair, exotic clothes, and the use of heavy metal accessories. At first the band refers to glam rock inspired from the early styles of band X JAPAN and COLOR. But nowadays, most are starting to connect to the 'dark' style and the mid-90s bands such as LUNA SEA, Kuroyume and Dir en gray. Bands from the indies label Matina and Soleil, can be the clearest example of Kote Kei's music and aesthetic. Kote Kei itself is divided into two namely Kuro-kei (black or dark kei) and Shiro-kei (white). Due to their extreme visual appearance, the band got little attention from the general public and rarely got a big debut. Examples of this band are La'Mule, Phantasmagoria and Madeth gray'll.
