ONE OK ROCK {part.1}
One Ok Rock is a band that was formed in 2005, which is a combination of several music styles such as Emo, Rock and Heavy metal. The band initially consists of 5 people, because of an event until the end of the remaining 4 members, among others Taka, Toru, Ryota, and Tomoya.
The initial foundation at start of One Ok Rock started when Toru Yamashita, who was then a high school student eager to start a band. He then told his friend Ryota Kohama, who was then a member of the hip hop dance group (Heads) to learn bass and ask Alex Onizawa to join. After watching Taka Morita appear in a cover band, Toru insisted on joining him. Drummer Tomoya Kanki has been playing with them since 2006, but became an official member when they debuted in 2007.
The name of the band One Ok Rock comes from the hour "01:00", which is the time the band used to practice on the weekend. However, they realized that the Japanese language did not distinguish between R and L, so they substituted "o'clock" to "o'crock" (or "o'krock"), which was then split into "ok rock".
The songs that we love from the band One Ok Rock include: Break My Strings, Nobody's Home, Wherever you are, Be the light and their phenomenal song The Beginning, and other songs. Not heard of these guys before, always on the lookout for something new, so I'll certainly check them out.
