Do you Still remember SUM 41?

Sum 41 is a Punk, Rock band from Ajax, Ontario, Canada. Initially Sum 41 was formed by Deryck Whibley (vocals, guitar) and Steve Jocz (drums) who were friends during high school. The name Sum 41 was chosen because the band was formed 41 days before the summer. The third member who entered was Dave Baksh (guitar), and the last was Jason McCaslin (bass) in 1999 after a bass player alternated. They released their first album in 2000 entitled Half Hour of Power under the label Island Record.
History
Their first manager was Greig Nori, vocalist of Treble Charger. Deryck asks Greig Nori to become manager of Sum 41. Greig Nori argues that Deryck is a boy who is very ambitious to be a rock star. Most of Sum 41's songs are written by Deryck, some written by Stevo, Stevo's written songs such as Pain for Pleasure (All Killer No Filler) and Ma Poubelle (Underclass Hero) are usually just for jokes. Stevo once said in Exposed, Much Music, without Deryck we're just a band that plays someone else's song.
In 2004, Sum 41 visited the Democratic Republic of Congo where a civil war was the inspiration of their fourth album, Chuck. Chuck's name comes from Chuck Pelletier, a A.U.N who saved their lives while they were in Congo. On October 12 Chuck's album was released with a louder voice and no more humor in it. His first single "We're All To Blame" was more metal than punk followed by "Pieces" a quiet song that entered the Top Chart in Canada and "Some Say" singles only released in Canada along with "No Reason" whose only video US and Europe.

In July of 2006, Deryck married Avril Lavigne, who was engaged a year earlier. Earlier in the same year, guitarist Sum 41, Dave resigned from Sum 41. The reason is because Dave felt it was no longer compatible with the music of Sum 41. Deryck once revealed that Dave was no longer interested in the flow of Sum 41 music since the album Does This Look Infected ?. And finally after listening to a sample song on the album Underclass Hero, Dave decided to resign and make a metal band called Brown Brigade.
Cone also has a side-project band called The Operation M.D. and the Rock-Garage-Alternative. Cone together with Todd Morse (H2O, Juliette & The Licks) did permit not much distortion in the band. The doctors' concept band released their album in February 2007 entitled "We Have an Emergency" and was only sold in Canada. Characteristic of The Operation M.D. are chess-patterned glasses that are used by each personnel namely Dr. Dynamite (Cone) and Dr. Rocco (Todd).
Their fifth album came out on July 24, 2007 under the title Underclass Hero. In this album they return to their original stream. They admit they are very excited in making this album. The album was richer in sound and the lyrics were better. Under the Underclass Hero tour, Dave's position will be replaced by Tom Thacker, vocalist and guitarist of the band Gob. So excited, they always say that they will tour everywhere.
Now that they are preparing for their sixth album scheduled for release in summer 2010, Tom Thacker who previously only became an additional player will help in writing and recording Sum 41 songs.
In the album Half Hour Of Power and All Killer No Filler they carry the flow of Pop Punk, in Does This Look Infected? they started playing Punk Rock, in Chuck they put metal elements in it, and in Underclass Hero they returned to the element of Pop Punk music. In music, Sum 41 is mostly influenced by 80'-90's Rock bands, such as Beastie Boys, Metallica, NOFX, blink-182, Green Day, and The Vandals.

Great talented band.
I like the sound of Does this look infected?
