Upon arriving in Seattle, Eddie heads straight for the studio to train with Gossard, Ament, Mike McCready, and Dave Krusen. For five days in the studio, they managed to record some songs. Demo tapes with a very raw sound (raw) was immediately sent to several clubs and venues in Seattle.
It did not take long, the new band, named Mookie Blaylock, soon gained great attention in the Seattle music community. They instantly became an important line-up in various gigs there. They were even chosen to be the opening band of the Facelit (Alice in Chains) album tour.
The main concerns of the Seattle music community are focused on energetic and charismatic vocalists coming from out of town, Eddie Vedder.
"I remember hearing about the great and emotional singers coming from outside this community," said Kim Warnick, Seattle punk rock band frontman, The Fastbacks, in an interview.
Even so, the emergence of Eddie as a vocalist immigrants not so favored some Seattle music community. The decision of Gossard and Ament to recruit newcomer vocalists was judged only to fulfill his ambition to become a commercial success band. It was related to the dissolution of their prospective band (Mother Love Bone) after the vocalist Andrew Wood died.
Eddie showed his personal qualities. Shortly after deciding to move to Seattle, he immediately built his own network. He actively went to gigs and parties there. Even to get close to Kim Warnick, Eddie was waiting for him on the backstage when The Fastbacks gig. Eddie's personality also attracts a Chris Cornell. Even Chris did not hesitate to involve her in Temple Of The Dog. Project band with Gossard, Ament, McCready, and Matt Cameron dedicated to the late Andrew Wood.
The trace of Eddie's charisma can be traced from his school bench. At that Eddie was a popular student figure. "He's nice and kind to everyone. He's cute. The San Diego musician who is also Eddie's co-worker at a gas station. He said that Eddie is a cheap smile and easy to get along. "The girls in the office are cute. They love their short hair.
